If you notice that the actual amount received is less than the sent amount when receiving tokens, it is usually related to factors such as the sending platform’s fees, on-chain network fees (Gas fees), cross-chain fees, or the token’s transfer mechanism. This article will explain the common reasons for this.
Common Reasons
In blockchain transactions, the final credited amount may sometimes be less than the expected sent amount. Common causes include:
➤ Sending Platform Withdrawal Fees
Some platforms charge a withdrawal fee, so the actual amount sent may be less than what you input.
➤ On-Chain Network Fees (Gas Fees)
Blockchain networks charge Gas fees when processing transactions. The Gas fee is usually paid by the sender, and the method and currency used for the fee can vary depending on the network and platform.
➤ Additional Fees from Cross-Chain or Swap Processes
If the transaction involves bridging, cross-chain transfers, or token swaps, additional fees may be incurred during the process, affecting the final credited amount.
➤ Token-Specific Fees or Transfer Taxes
Some tokens have built-in fees or transfer taxes that automatically deduct a percentage of the transaction amount during the transfer. As a result, the recipient may receive less than the sent amount.
For example, if you initiate a withdrawal of 100 USDT from a platform that charges a 0.3 USDT withdrawal fee, the actual amount transferred on-chain may be 99.7 USDT, and MyDex may also receive 99.7 USDT.
❗ Important: The relevant fees may be charged by the blockchain network, sending platform. Please refer to the transaction details page, withdrawal records, and block explorer information for accurate fee deductions. You can also check the transaction’s status and fee information using the transaction hash (TxID / Hash).
